The LMD arc for Agents of SHIELD kicked off when AIDA kidnapped May and replaced her with an AI at SHIELD’s compound. While nobody suspects anything is off with May, that could change as soon as this week as the writers continue to kick things into high gear.

Even though May is unconscious and in some sort of simulator, that’s not enough to keep her out. Just last week, we saw her wake up and nearly fight off AIDA before she had to inject her with an anesthetic. Radcliffe surmised that she doesn’t like comfortable surroundings like a beach, and prefers a combative environment, which prompted the hilarious AIDA line, “Shall I design a dragon?”

Whatever they do come up with, it looks like this will be the episode where May finally breaks out of captivity. Here’s the official synopsis for “Wake Up,” courtesy of ABC:

That fighting spirit of May is what makes her such a fan favorite. And now this season, she’s demonstrated a tremendous ability to stay woke. Remember, earlier this season, she already had to deal with getting possessed. This is probably nothing to her. Radcliffe clearly picked the wrong agent to kidnap.

Given that LMD May hasn’t gone rogue yet, we probably won’t see the second ever May vs. May fight of Agents of SHIELD. However, it would be awesome if the two teamed up to fight AIDA. Even though it’s only been two episodes, she’s proven to be an awesome villain, and it’s possible that the only one who can take her out is another LMD.

Agents of SHIELD is already in great form. But as the stakes get higher each week, we should be treated to even more exciting episodes.
